SIC's 2021 collection of paddles was developed from the ground up. The ultimate goal was to create the perfect, comprehensive range to suit all paddlers from the most elite in the world, like those men and women on the SIC team, recreational fitness, beginners, and youth paddlers. From top to bottom, the SIC paddle range utilizes a wide variety of materials offering a multitude of flexes, blade shapes, and grip options. We are confident that you will find the perfect paddle for you in our extensive range.

SIC paddles are available in various blade sizes and materials to give maximum performance, function, and strength. The higher-end Carbon and fiberglass blades feature an ABS tip protection, sandwiched between the carbon layers to improve overall strength and durability. The thermoplastic blades offer an affordable and durable option for beginners, clubs, and schools.

For 2021, we introduce a newly designed standard diameter shaft that covers the majority of paddlers. This is offered in a variety of flexes, from firm to soft. New for 2021 is our all-new slim shaft, designed for women paddlers/smaller hands and anyone who prefers a thinner shaft.

Our cut-to-length (CTL) paddles come with ergonomic hollow 3K Carbon blow-molded T-grip handles, which get glued in after the rider has cut the shaft to the desired length. Our adjust-to-fit (ATF) paddles come with a 6" adjustable Lever Lock handle, which allows the rider to cut the shaft to the shortest desired length while still adjusting the length when needed. All CTL paddles are compatible with the ATF system. As long as the CTL shafts are compatible, you can cut off your glued in handle and then replace it with a Lever Lock (ATF) handle instead.

Even the fastest boards in the world can be faster with an effective paddle. This is why we have spent so much time retooling our paddle line (literally) from blade, to oval shaped shaft to, ergo handle. Our new blade design has been optimized to have a higher aspect ratio, more catch, and a cleaner release. This is a fancy way of saying we have made our blades even faster in and out of the water. Additionally, we wrapped the edge in ABS to protect against impact damage. Our proprietary shaft design is a tapered oval to round ID that can accept either a stardard, EVA wrapped, cut to fit, carbon handle, OR a Lever Lock 6” carbon adjustable handle for the ultimate in performance adjustability. No more cutter’s regret! You can now seamlessly change up your paddle length between surfing and racing. One paddle, more options.

OPTIMIZED FLEX

Extensive testing helped us determine the ideal flex pattern for maximum comfort and performance. Adding a bit more flex to the paddle provides positive feedback to the user and maximizes effective power output while reducing stress on joints for longer, more enjoyable paddle sessions.

The design and performance of SIC paddle blades is based around three phases of an efficient paddle stroke:

The Catch Our blade are designed for a smooth entry into the water with minimal splash or blade rotation during entry. This allows the blade to become firmly planted in the water for the second phase of the stroke…

The Pull This is where power is applied from the paddler, to the blade, into the water and is what propels you forward. Keeping the blade slightly narrower and longer than traditional SUP paddle blades gives you several “gears” depending on how deeply you insert the paddle into the water. Together with a slight dihedral in the blade it also reduces cavitation (flutter) for maximum transfer of power from body to blade to water.

The Recovery Just as important as the Catch, a clean recovery minimizes power loss and maintains rhythm. Oxbow paddle blades have minimal ‘curve’ in the blade and a thin profile. This allows the blade to “pop” out of the water at the end of the stroke quickly and cleanly. The thin profile also increases blade performance when feathering the paddle through the water, which is an advanced recovery technique used in many situations, from helping maintain balance to course corrections.
